Georgia PB&J Day set for Monday at State Capitol

TIFTON, Ga. — March is National Peanut Month, a time to celebrate one of America’s favorite foods! The Georgia peanut industry plans to celebrate by hosting the 2014 Georgia PB&J Day at the Georgia State Capitol in  Atlanta, Ga. The event kicks off Monday morning March 17, 2014, and will be held in the south wing of the Capitol from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The peanut industry will have plenty of PB&J’s, grilled PB&J’s, country-fried peanuts, boiled peanuts and more. read more . . .

3-D peanut production video created by Georgia Peanut Commission

TIFTON, Ga. — The Georgia Peanut Commission now has a 3-D video featuring Georgia peanut production available at its headquarters off of Interstate 75 in Tifton, Ga. Farmers, local Tifton residents, as well as tourists traveling through South Georgia are encouraged to stop by the GPC office to witness the video first-hand and see how the new technology is being used as an educational tool for all ages. read more . . .

Georgia Peanut Commission set to hold Farm Bill webinar on Feb. 24

TIFTON, Ga. — Many questions have arisen following the Congressional passage of the Agricultural Act of 2014. Georgia Peanut Commission Research Report Day set for February 12

TIFTON, Ga. — The Georgia Peanut Commission will hold the annual Research Report Day, February 12, 2014, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the National Environmentally Sound Production Agriculture Laboratory (NESPAL), located on the University of Georgia Tifton campus at 2360 Rainwater Road, Tifton, Ga. 31793. Morris elected chairman of the Georgia Peanut Commission

TIFTON, Ga. — Armond Morris, peanut farmer from Ocilla, Ga., was elected chairman of the Georgia Peanut Commission during the monthly board meeting in June. This is Morris’ thirteenth term as chairman of the commission. He has also served as chairman of the board previously in 1996 and 1997, 2003 and since 2005. read more . . .
