EVENT: To
celebrate Hunger Action Month in September, the Georgia Peanut
Commission, American Peanut Shellers Association, National
Peanut Buying Points Association and Georgia Farm Bureau
will announce a donation of 28,224 jars of peanut butter
to
the Food Bank of Southwest Georgia on Thursday, Sept. 10 at
9:00 a.m. This donation has been made possible by 18
individuals,
businesses and organizations. The Food Bank of Southwest
Georgia serves 20 counties throughout southwest
Georgia
and partners with over 300 agencies to serve approximately
30,000 people each year, including 10,000 children.
The peanut butter donated is made from quality Georgia grown
peanuts
and processed locally at Tara Foods, located in Albany, Ga.
