TIFTON,
Georgia– For the sixth year in a row AMADAS Industries
sponsors the grand door prize during the 30th annual Georgia
Peanut Farm Show and Conference. The grand door prize is a
certificate valued at $10,000 for the purchase of an AMADAS
self-propelled peanut combine. The one-day show on January
19, 2006, offers farmers a full day to view the products and
services of more than 60 exhibitors and an afternoon of education.
“This is the sixth year AMADAS Industries has sponsored the grand door
prize,” says Emory Murphy, farm show coordinator. “We are excited
that they have chosen to recognize one lucky peanut farmer with a $10,000 certificate
towards the purchase of a self-propelled peanut combine.”
The show opens at 8:30 a.m. with door prize registration and closes at 3:45 p.m.
with the announcement of the grand door prize winner. The Georgia Peanut Commission
will present a short program beginning at 10:45 a.m. that will cover award presentations
and commission activities. A free luncheon will follow for all peanut farmers
in attendance.
The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service will present educational
peanut seminars throughout the day focusing on weed management, soil fertility,
sod based rotation, irrigation and economics. Growers who participate in the
extension-research seminars will earn credit towards pesticide certification.
At the close of the day, the presentation of a $10,000 certificate towards the
purchase of an AMADAS peanut combine, donated by AMADAS Industries, will be presented
