TIFTON,
Ga.— The 2005 Georgia Peanut Festival kicks off Saturday
morning October 15 with fun activities scheduled for the entire
day. The Georgia Peanut Commission will be on hand oil roasting
delicious Georgia peanuts and distributing recipe brochures
and nutritional information.
“ The Georgia Peanut Commission is proud to be a part of the Georgia Peanut
Festival in Sylvester,” says Armond Morris, chairman of the Georgia Peanut
Commission. “We invite everyone in Georgia to attend this festival celebrating
Georgia’s Official State Crop.”
The festival is held at Jeffords Park in Sylvester, Ga. and begins at 9:00 a.m.
with arts and crafts and educational displays. The Georgia Peanut Festival parade
begins at 10:00 a.m. and an awards ceremony will be held at noon.
