The
Georgia Peanut Commission invests each year in funding
research through the University of Georgia and
the
U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research
Service. For the 2009-2010 fiscal year the GPC board
approved $400,000 in research projects.
The Georgia Peanut
Commission funds peanut production research
to
help create
crop
efficiencies, improve crop quality and reduce production
costs. Many of the research projects focus on production
issues, allergy
issues, seed breeding for
higher yields and quality, better flavor and
shelf life and more disease resistance. Learn more

Commission
