Chef Margot's Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients for the Bars:
2/3 cup butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder

Directions for the Bars:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butters and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and mix. Sift salt, flour and baking powder together and add to peanut butter mixture. Stir until combined. Spoon into a 1-inch deep 17 x 12 pan. Bake 30 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.

Ingredients for Frosting:
2 tablespoons butter
½ cup creamy peanut butter
3 1/3 cup powdered sugar
pinch salt
squeeze lemon juice
splash of milk

Directions for the Frosting:
Cream butters and sugar with salt and lemon. Add milk for appropriate frosting consistency and mix until smooth. Frost bars.

Makes 16 servings.
